A Registered Dental Hygiene in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) is a California-licensed dental hygienist who provides preventive dental hygiene services independently in a variety of settings, including private offices, patients’ home, residential care facilities, schools, and community settings.
RDHAPs are uniquely positioned to increase access to care for individuals who may experience barriers to receiving traditional dental services, including order adults, individuals with disabilities, and those with transportation, scheduling, or financial challenges.
